Are they making a comeback? 5 accounts that lead me to believe that yes, indeed they are.

Dear Reader,

I’m beginning to realize that I miss fashion. I miss the excitement fashion used to give me. I miss the creativity fashion paved way for me to explore. I miss the textures, the prints, the mixing. I miss it all.

After COVID hit amongst other things my passion for garments and fabrics fizzled. What once brought me so much joy suddenly became unnecessary...unimportant. I was no longer interested nor really cared what I wore. I became comfortable wearing the same few basic pieces and called it a day. I have had other passions fade away into an oblivion in the past so I just came to the conclusion my fashion interests have passed as well.

But lately I’ve been feeling excited about fashion again.

Me back in December 2020 playing dress-up in my $12 thrifted vintage faux fur coat with no where to go.

I recently heard (can’t remember where) that it was predicted that we will see more vintage and individual style in 2024. This news immediately filled me with excitement. Not only is this shift desperately needed from the basic uniform I’ve been stuck in since COVID. But also because those very two elements are what started my love for fashion years ago in the first place. From browsing my mom’s closet as a child discovering pieces she gravitated towards from her generation to learning from Molly Ringwald in Pretty in Pink on how to create great personal style on a low budget.

Now whether this prediction is technically becoming a reality in 2024 or not, I’m not sure. However I am noticing a lot of creativity with styling lately where people are just having fun with it again. Which I think is so great and inspiring.

My post COVID stay-at-home style is still going strong today. While I’m still very comfortable wearing this everyday and I do still very much like this look. I’m (clearly) bored and uninspired by it.

So, today I want to share 5 individuals that I’ve been eyeing lately who seem to have gotten the memo to tap into their inner individual style with splashes of vintage appeal thrown into their mix. I happen to think they are pulling it off brilliantly with so much creativity and interest.
