Dear Reader,
Opportunities for growth, new knowledge, and exposure to words of wisdom shared by others through experience are all around us and now accessible more than ever in countless ways, platforms, and sources. Substack has been a lovely contributor for such things this year for me as I’ve discovered so many beautiful souls sharing from their hearts wonderful foods for thought. So for today’s The Noted Five I’m sharing a few that have spoken to me lately in one way or another.
Here are 5 things Substack articles that I found worth noting:
“It’s okay to take time to become the versions of ourselves we want to be in the things we do. It’s okay to let our work and life shift and change as we do. It’s okay to return to what we once needed space from. It’s okay to come to new understandings of ourselves in the midst of having space to do so. It’s okay to reorient toward our desires and gifts, again and again, in new and similar shapes.” says Lisa Olivera from her beautiful Substack Human Stuff in article What’s Not Wrong. I really needed to hear these words and have now tucked them gently in my heart pocket for those moments when an extra dose of self reassurance, confidence, and grace is needed. Thank you for sharing . xo
An important heads-up, reminder, and in some ways warning has been issued by Substack Total Rec in article I Regret What’s In My Camera Roll by noting that what we fill our camera roll up with “tells the story of my life visually, showing what really matters to me.” As someone that is deeply inspired by a life lived and the legacy we leave behind, this article really struck a chord with me on what I have been feeling for a few years now and quite frankly scarred from in ways from this aesthetically driven world we have succumbed to. Totally Recommend leaves us in her article with the following questions that really sums it up nicely: “What will you dedicate your priceless (yet unlimited) camera roll to during your time here? And what will people see in those photos when you're no longer around?”. Thank you for sharing . xo
I am currently on a loose mission to tackle Emma Straub’s Summer Reading Assignment. I didn’t have the best start with my first pick from her list, however I’m still excited to continue the journey. Next up I’m leaning towards The Noble Hustle by Colson Whitehead or Writers and Lovers by Lily King. Thank you for the summer reading recommendations and for such a fun Substack all together. xo
“There is no such thing as a waste of time when it comes to paying attention to people.” shares Evie in her beautifully written article Socialite Summer at evie en rose. Thank you for reminding me to say “yes” more. xo
An article dedicated to Strawberries, yes please! Katie Merchant’s article Strawberry Blog at thank you, ok gives me all the feels. Not only am I now wanting a strawberry purse, to try a strawberry sweet treat with pop rocks in it, and revisit a glass of strawberry milk. But I now want to start collecting stacks of old 80s & 90s magazines and cookbooks. Her image selections in her articles are always so fantastic! Thank you for the nostalgia. xo
Thank you for reading. Many blessings your way.
