Dear Reader,
I hope you are doing well. Over here we are trying to get back into routines after a week of spring breaking. And with the recent spring forward time change it’s been a bit of an adjustment to say the least! I am so ready to do away with daylight saving time changes for ever and ever. I’m told 2025...we shall see! Today I thought I would share a photo diary from a lovely event I recently went to that centers all around flowers and beautiful scenic views.
Every other year in March the River Oaks Garden Club here in Houston, Tx hosts an Azalea Trail Garden Tour. What started in 1935 as a means to fund a beautiful garden for the local elementary school has now evolved into a lovely 7 location tour in efforts to educate the public about architecture, flower arranging and horticultural possibilities in our region.
This was my fourth time attending the event and it was as lovely as always. It even included a new home within the tour that I had not seen before. The home had an actual chapel from the early 1900s that was transported from France to the homeowners back yard. It was beyond gorgeous!
Azaleas usually kickoff our spring season here in Houston with their gorgeous fully packed blooms. So when the weather and environment hits just right the Azaleas really can put on quite the show within these breathtaking gardens. I highly recommend going if the opportunity ever arises your way.
Now initially I felt I didn’t take as many photos as I hoped I would. Partly because I have already taken so many during my previous visits. But mainly because sometimes it is nice to just take in the scenes minus a lens, ya know? However after putting this diary together I realize I did actually end up capturing quite a few nice shots that stood out to me this time around. So please enjoy a little heavenly floral and architectural photo diary from my visit to the 2024 Azalea Trail.
I had the pleasure of having my dear friend Leah join me this year. We had such a lovely time together taking in all the surrounding beauty. We even worked up a little appetite so we stopped in for a quick bite at Taglia. We both had their special of the day, Salmon Ravioli. It was deliciously rich and decadent!
It was a great day!
Thank you so much for reading.
Love,
