Mood Board Monday: A Tiny Ode to Playfulness
Art, beads, a bookclub, cable knits and puff sleeves, Cillian Murphy, silly Minnie, and more.
Dear Reader,
Happy Monday! I hope all is well on your end. Spring is definitely approaching and I’m so here for it. The birds are flying around singing their songs, the trees are starting to bud new life and it’s getting me all kinds of giddy for those treasured moments in the outdoors. The weather has been a little inconsistent lately so I know we still have a little cold left from the winter season. But the fact that I recently had to swap out the jeans and sweaters for shorts, t-shirt, and an iced coffee, plus the groundhog’s latest report, spring season is oh so very near.
Today’s mood board reflects subtle hints of playfulness that bring a smile to my face. I also still seem to be holding on to those cozy sweater looks (can’t stop, won’t stop!). There is a touch of melancholy in a few images which tend to always grab my attention. But such is our world, there really is no getting around that if I’m being honest. And quite frankly being a melancholy myself; there are positives to this angle as well. So perhaps it’s a mixed bag today; which honestly pretty much sums me up often. Part dreamer, part realist, and part so much more in between.
Please feel free to have a listen to this beautiful arrangement by Megan Perry Fisher while you scroll through today’s mood board.

Mood Board Image Details and Highlights:
@jamiebeck.co - Jamie Beck’s flower book caught my eye yet again.
@driverminnie - Minnie Driver’s Instagram tends to always put a smile on my face. Did anybody see her latest post? She wants us to know that she does in fact like apples, lol! [Good Will Hunting reference). This image reminds me to not be so serious all the time, but rather embrace (or find) my silly side. And look how adorable little Minnie is in this photo.
@lovefrenchisbetter - A very cool blurry b/w image of Cillian Murphy. Enough said.
@natsbookclub - I’m always on the look out for new books to dive into so when I saw Natalie Portman’s post of her current bookclub pick I was intrigued. I’ve been enjoying the images of her personal annotations she makes while reading for her bookclub. Pretty cool!
@__nitch - Seeing this image made me want to give this woman a hug. And then when I read the quote in the caption I was utterly moved.
@rachelnosco - I love Rachel Nosco’s style. Her knack for oversized dressing speaks to my soul. This look is not necessarily oversized, but she nailed this red and brown outfit combo beautifully.
@rachelnosco - Rachel again, wearing an oversized grey blazer/coat situation paired with a tan bag. I LOVE the tucked in hair look with it! Such a simple detail with big impact.
@minnahigh - Beautiful quote. And so true!
@thereal60sbazaar - I want that fur coat! And they really do look like they are having a great time, don’t they? The sixties!
@nisi - Loving this cable knit sweater vest and dainty floral print puffed sleeve combo.
@aliyaabs.art - Beautiful art that speaks to the book worm in me! And I love the color palette.
@vogueandchocolate - More cream cable knits! My daughter is always stealing mine! I might need to buy her this one that is very similar.
@anastasiagerrans - Love this outfit! The boots are the perfect touch. And she does look quite happy about it as she works it across the street.
@shopdoen - I need this Anisa Short Sleeve Puff Sleeve Sweater! The perfect shade of butter yellow to bring in the spring season. I’m also loving this similar option at a lower price point here.
@mmossquito - I’m still loving these big beaded necklaces. I love their whole collection to be honest!
Thank you so much for reading. Have a blessed week.
Love,
